#1 (Tortoiseshell Cats)

1. First, please introduce yourself.
Hello, I'm ヨシナ (Yoshina).
I'm an illustrator who enjoys watching game livestreams and tournaments.

2. When did you start creating art? If you have any special experiences, please share them as well.
I've loved drawing since I was a child and often drew characters from my favorite manga and anime.

However, after entering the workforce, my focus shifted to work, and I had much less time to draw. There was even a period when I stopped drawing altogether.

Around three or four years ago, I started frequently watching game livestreams and esports tournaments, which inspired me to create illustrations of streamers and players I found interesting.

Because I hadn't drawn in a long time, my work often didn't turn out the way I had hoped, which caused me a lot of stress.
But it was precisely because of that frustration that the desire to “become better at drawing” was rekindled in me.
Now, I remind myself of the passion I had when I first started and continue striving to grow as an illustrator.

3. Please share the inspiration and process behind your Summer25 entry.
Due to some changes in my personal life, I became extremely busy, and by the time I was able to start working on the piece, there were only five days left until the deadline.
Since I didn’t have much time to carefully plan the design, I decided to simply draw something I enjoy and let my creativity flow freely. That’s why I chose to focus on two themes I love: animals and fashion.

I really like cats, but I’m especially fond of tortoiseshell cats (sabi-neko). I’ve always wanted to find an opportunity to draw them.
Each tortoiseshell cat has a unique coat pattern, giving them an exotic charm. This time, I combined their distinctive appeal with a vintage fashion style that I personally love.

Since this is a summer-themed mousepad design, I chose yellow—a color I love and one that fits well with summer—as the base, and added accents of orange and blue to create a more harmonious overall color palette.

4. For fans who like your work, how can they find you?
I mainly share my illustrations on X (formerly Twitter).

I casually draw subjects that I like and freely share various content.

5. Is there anything else you’d like to say to everyone?
I'm incredibly surprised and grateful to have received so much support through everyone's votes.

Nice to meet you! My name is 菊結.

2. When did you start creating art? If you have any special experiences, please share them as well.
Drawing has been my hobby since I was a child, but to be honest, I wouldn’t say the things I’ve created are anything remarkable…

This is my first experience creating artwork for a commercial project.

So I don’t really have any special experience to share… Sorry about that!

3. Please share the inspiration and process behind your Summer25 entry.
Since VAXEE is a brand that sells a variety of esports hardware, my initial concept was something that felt fast, cool, and vibrant—something that would ignite a competitive spirit.

When I thought of FPS games, the image that immediately came to mind—though a bit straightforward—was a character holding a gun.

This result has given me more confidence in myself, and I will take this as a starting point to continue working hard and creating step by step.
